On Wednesday, November 20th sophomores have been invited to visit Southwest Tech in the morning to investigate their educational options for their Junior and Senior years. A permission slip is required! I hope many will participate!
Also, in the afternoon on November 20th, all sophomores will be taking the ASVAB test. We will use this test, with another activity, to start our career exploration. Many of you have heard that the ASVAB test is a military test. The military does use this test as part of a career exploration program but the military does not have access to our students' ASVAB activities.

CAREER PLANNING for Sophomores
All sophomores will take the ASVAB on November 11th at 11:30am. This is the 1st step in a 3 step comprehensive program for career exploration. There are great career exploration materials paired with this program. Later in the school year students will complete this program and be given directions about how to use these results in their career exploration!
Many of you are aware that military recruiters use this test for new recruits as they explore their career options. Edwards-Knox will not release ASVAB test results to the military. If students wish to have a discussion with a recruiter about their test results they would need to take their results with them when they meet with a recruiter.
